Q. What is required for a typical set of plans and obtaining building permits?
A. Architectural plans, Engineering plans and calcs, Energy compliance sheet (Title 24) and calcs, and pending on which city, a soils report.
Q. Do I need to hire these other consultants?
A. No, we have a number of professional consultants that we work with on your project to obtain permits.
Q. How long does the process usually take from beginning stages of design to pulling permits?
A. From design, producing the architectural drawings, then producing the structrual and Title 24 drawings and calcs, to waiting on the local building department to do a plan check, and then making corrections.....the process can take up to two months minimum.
Q. Do you charge for a first time consultation?
A. Nope, we are more then happy to come to your home and give you suggestions or answer any questions you may have.
Q. What if im adding a small room, roughly a 100 square feet, do I need to bother with getting permits?
A. Dont ever build with out getting permitted, EVER!
